Jorge Pineda

Davidoff Resident, Künstlerhaus Bethanien Berlin, Spring 2014
Jorge Pineda talks about how art influences life, the importance of honesty and Pier Paolo Pasollini’s movie Theorema. His work, a mix of drawings and installations, has transformed the art scene in the Dominican Republic since the 1980’s.
Jorge Pineda is one of the Dominican Republic’s premiere artists. Born in Barahona, a beach town on the southern coast of the Dominican Republic, he’s spent his career as a stage director and visual artist. Presently, he exhibits independently and with the collective QUINTAPATA, a group of artists that shares visual work, seminars and symposiums.
Honesty is the key constituent to produce any kind of art.”CURRENT EXHIBITIONS
